Did You Know?

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration approximates that around 23 million Americans currently struggle or have struggled with some form of substance abuse.

Due to financial access and support networks, only a portion of these individuals will seek treatment.

At Sunshine Rehab, you can receive the drug or alcohol addiction and mental health care that you need. We work directly with your insurance provider to make recovery and sober living a very real possibility.

What is United Healthcare Insurance?

Founded in 1977, United Healthcare is a multi-plan insurance option headquartered in Minnesota. Currently United Healthcare insurance plans cover around 50 million subscribers.

The plan also features 1.3 million in-network physicians and around 6,250 covered hospitals. Currently, United healthcare is available in all states.

Types of Humana Health Insurance Plans

United Healthcare insurance benefits offer a variety of plans to cover both you and your eligible family members.

Here are the most common United Healthcare plans:

  • Essential+ Plan: This plan is the most cost-effective option. This plan can have monthly premiums less than $10 per month. However, you will pay much more out-of-pocket costs when you do seek treatment. This plan is a good fit if you rarely need to see a doctor or only want emergency coverage.
  • Virtual First Plan: This plan prioritizes virtual and Telehealth coverage. It offers 24/7 Telehealth services through Galileo. It is also cost effective with premiums sometimes under $10/month. However, if you seek any sort of in-person care, you will pay much more. This plan covers Telehealth for only the preferred provider network.
  • Value+ Plan: This plan is also budget-friendly and is available I multiple states. It is similar to a standard HSA plan. However, one benefit of this plan is that is covers both Telehealth and in-person providers that are in-network.
  • Advantage+ Plan: This plan has the most options and benefits, but can be pricier than the other plans. Here, this plan will cover any in-network treatment provider and some out-of-network providers.
  • This plan also offers dental and vision services and does not put a cap on the amount of medical services covered. Due to paying more per month, deductibles will be less for each treatment service you need.

Addiction Treatment Cost

Due to the passing of the Affordable Care Act in 2014, health insurance companies cannot charge additional premiums or deny care for pre-existing conditions.

Thankfully, due to the mental health care and substance treatment services needed to treat substance abuse, health insurance providers are required to classify this as a pre-existing condition.

Many fear having to pay out of pocket for rehab centers. However, your United Healthcare substance abuse treatment insurance policy will make it easier to access the care you need.

Your treatment facility will be able to work with you to determine what your insurance provider will cover, and can explain your United Healthcare benefits to you.
